Rating of the main grain exporters from Ukraine in 2022/23 MY
The largest exporters of Ukrainian grain in 2022/23 MY were Kernel, Louis Dreyfus Company and Cargill.
In 2022/23 MY, Ukraine increased the exports of grains by 1 mln tonnes to 49 mln tonnes compared to the previous season, 55% of which were shipped through deepwater ports, and the rest – via alternative routes.
Changes in the main export routes significantly adjusted the structure of the largest grain exporters, as supplies via alternative routes are highly fragmented, and the share of major players in them does not exceed 5-7%. The exception is Nibulon, which is actively exporting grain through its port terminal on the Danube, even though it can export through the Black Sea ports.
Therefore, in 2022/23 MY, Kernel became the largest grain exporter from Ukraine with a share of 8% in total exports. The second place was taken by Louis Dreyfus with the share of 7%.
In general, the TOP-10 largest exporters and their respective share in grain exports are as follows:
-
Kernel – 8%.
