Rapeseed oil content continues to increase in Ukraine
According to the results of the latest harvest season, the quality of rapeseed grain in Ukraine has remained largely unchanged compared to last year. However, the crop’s oil content has been steadily increasing every year since 2020. In 2023, rapeseed recorded its highest average indicators — 45.56% at actual moisture and 49.07% on a dry-matter basis.
The update was provided by Oleh Onishchenko, Technical and Claims Manager of the “Natural Resources — Agricultural Products” Department at SGS Ukraine, during an online discussion hosted by the Trend & Hedge Club.
“There have been almost no changes in rapeseed quality compared with the previous harvest in terms of moisture and impurities. The oil content at actual moisture stands at 44%, compared with 43.6% last year, while oil content on a dry-matter basis is 47.2% versus 46.7% in 2024,” the expert noted.
