Purchase prices for rapeseed in Ukraine fell by $25/t in a week due to the start of the harvest
The rapeseed market in Ukraine is becoming more active with the start of the harvesting campaign, but the increase in the supply of the new crop is already putting pressure on prices. This was reported by analysts at White Brokers.
According to their data, during the week, purchase prices for rapeseed on DAP-port terms decreased from $585/t to $560/t.
At the same time, trade in rapeseed and corn on the western border remains sluggish due to lower price competitiveness compared to port routes. Currently, estimated purchase prices on the western border are about €175/t for corn and €475/t for rapeseed.
White Brokers note that in order to activate trade in the western direction, prices should approach the level offered in ports.
Analysts also predict that in the coming weeks, as the new harvest increases, the supply of rapeseed will continue to grow, which may maintain additional pressure on prices not only of rapeseed, but also of early grain and oilseed crops.
