Poland, Ukraine close to agreement on agricultural products – Reuters
Kyiv and Warsaw are close to an agreement on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. This was stated by the leader of the parliamentary faction of the pro-government Polish Peasant Party Krzysztof Paszczyk, Reuters reports.
According to him, the parties are “close to solving these problems together in dialogue” on the eve of the meeting of Polish Agriculture Minister Czeslaw Sekerski with his Ukrainian counterpart Mykola Solsky on Wednesday in Warsaw and the governments of the countries on Thursday.
“I think it will be possible today or tomorrow to make sure that what is sometimes called transit actually becomes transit… I am optimistic about the results,” Pashchyk said.
Pashchyk also said that the agreement between Poland and Ukraine should contain clearly defined qualitative and quantitative quotas for products that can remain in Poland.
“This is a goal that can be achieved,” Pashchik added.
