Pea acreage in Ukraine is gradually returning to pre-war levels
In Ukraine, there is a noticeable increase in the area under pea crops after a sharp decline since the beginning of the full-scale war.
This is reported by AgroTimes with reference to the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Statistics Service.
In general, over the past six years, the sown areas of peas have changed as follows:
- 2020 – 238.9 thsd ha;
- 2021 – 242.1 thsd ha;
- 2022 – 131.3 thsd ha;
- 2023 – 150.3 thsd ha;
- 2024 – 212.1 thsd ha;
- 2025 – 216.5 thsd ha are expected to be sown.
As you know, peas are a good precursor for many crops, including cereals, and according to Albert Nurkhametov, a farmer from Kirovograd region, peas are not currently unprofitable.
