Norway and Austria have allocated funds for Food from Ukraine
The Ukrainian carrot market is experiencing a decline in prices. Demand for root vegetables remains limited, as medium and low-quality vegetables are increasingly being sold. This is reported by EastFruit analysts.
Wholesale companies purchase carrots only as needed, avoiding long-term storage, which also puts pressure on the overall price level.
Today, Ukrainian producers ship carrots in the range of 5–11 UAH/kg ($0.12–0.26/kg), which is on average 21% cheaper than a week ago. Experts say the main reason for the price decline is the seasonal increase in the supply of vegetables of different quality against the background of limited demand. In order to boost sales, farmers are forced to adjust prices for existing lots.
In addition, wholesale lots of carrots are now on average 59% cheaper than in the same period last year.
