Nigeria joined the list of regular buyers of Ukrainian corn starch
3.7 KMT of Ukrainian corn starch was exported in August (-42% from July, -8% from August 2019/20). Exports for the entire season totaled 77.9 KMT (down 14% from MY 2019/20).
Indonesia – the top buyer of starch from Ukraine – slashed purchases by 34% from last season, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Apart from Indonesia, the following countries also reduced imports compared to MY 2019/20: the UAE (-69%), Malaysia (-17%), Taiwan (-61%).
Shipments to the following markets grew from a year earlier: the EU (+11%), China (+90%), Thailand (+44%).
Nigeria – a newcomer of the season – ended MY 2020/21 as the fourth biggest importer of Ukrainian starch.
