Mongolia expands organic feed production capacity tenfold
Mongolia’s first organic animal feed plant has increased its daily production capacity tenfold, from 5 to 50 tons. The facility has switched to fully automated technology and is expanding feed production for the country’s livestock sector.
The plant operates under the Mimo brand and produces eight types of products, including mineral and compound feeds, alfalfa feed and salt licks. Production complies with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 international standards.
EIBH Agro, which owns the facility, has been engaged in crop production since 2016 and uses crop rotation across 3.5 thsd ha. In 2026, around 1.2 thsd ha were planted with wheat, feed crops and sugar beet, providing the company with its own raw material base.
The company is also developing an integrated production model. It plans to buy livestock raised on Mimo feed at higher prices, aiming to increase livestock farmers’ incomes while supplying the market with higher-quality meat.
According to the producer, the use of these feeds can significantly improve livestock productivity, reducing non-natural animal losses by up to 90%, increasing cashmere output by 60%, milk output by 40%, and meat output by two to three times. The company also says the feeds can help reduce the risk of non-infectious diseases in animals.
