May poultry exports from Ukraine break five-year record
Ukrainian poultry meat exports in May 2026 amounted to 43.64 thousand tons. This result is 7% higher than the figure for April 2026, when 40.7 thousand tons were sold. The recorded volume became a record monthly export figure for the last 5 years, according to the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine.
In monetary terms, May exports increased by 10.7% and amounted to $93.6 million. The average export selling price of poultry meat in May increased to $2.15 per kilogram due to a change in the range of exported products.
For the first 5 months of 2026, total poultry meat exports amounted to 207.1 thousand tons, which is 6.1% more than for the same period last year. At the same time, revenue for these 5 months decreased by 4.3% and amounted to $437.1 million.
The following countries became the main sales markets for Ukrainian products in January-May 2026:
- The Netherlands with a share of 17.9%;
- Great Britain – 11.8%;
- Slovakia – 10.2%;
- UAE – 6.9%.
The share of the European market in the total volume of supplies for 5 months amounted to 34.9%, which is equal to 69.7 thousand tons. In monetary terms, exports to EU countries provided almost half of the total foreign exchange revenue – 44.8%. Separately, exports of finished poultry meat products from Ukraine for the same period amounted to 7.2 thousand tons worth $24.4 million.
