Kazakhstan has harvested a record 26.5 million tons of grain this year (compared to 17.1 million tons last year), of which 12 million tons of grains and 1 million tons of oilseeds can be exported, the country’s authorities announced after summarizing the harvest results.

The country’s agriculture ministry attributed the high harvest to favorable weather conditions, the use of high-quality seeds and mineral fertilizers.

According to forecasts, Kazakhstan can export 7-7.5 million tons of wheat, 1.3-1.4 million tons of barley, 300 thousand tons of corn and 1 million tons of oilseeds. About 4.2 million tons of grain will be supplied to the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.

In 2023, Kazakhstan increased grain exports to China by 5.5 times to 1.431 mln tonnes compared to the previous year, including wheat by 15 times to 538.8 thsd tonnes.

This year, the government has created all the necessary conditions for high-quality and timely sowing and harvesting. The volume of preferential financing for the industry reached a record 580 billion tenge or $1.2 billion, which was provided to farmers for direct lending, forward purchases and lower interest rates. In 2025, financing for the industry will grow to 700 billion tenge.
