Kazakhstan harvested a record oilseed harvest of 4.7 mln tons
For the second year in a row, Kazakhstan has harvested a record grain crop – approximately 27 million tons. Furthermore, this year saw a record harvest of 1 million tons of legumes and 4.7 million tons of oilseeds. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin announced this at a government meeting.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, agriculture has entered a phase of seasonal growth. Gross output in the sector increased by 6.1%, accelerating by 0.7 percentage points compared to January-October.
“This growth was driven by a 7.6% increase in crop production, driven by favorable weather conditions and high yields of grain and oilseed crops. A strong cotton harvest is also expected.
It was previously reported that in the next three years, the area under oilseeds in Kazakhstan will expand by another 1-1.5 million hectares, and that exports of oilseed products from Kazakhstan by the end of the 2025/26 season will exceed $1 billion.
