Jordan purchases 60 thsd tons of wheat and launches new tender
Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has purchased 60,000 tons of milling wheat through an international tender held on June 2. The contract was awarded to Buildcom, which offered wheat at a price of $276 per ton on a C&F basis.
The purchased volume is scheduled for shipment between August 16 and August 31. Although the tender initially sought 120,000 tons of wheat of optional origin, only half of the targeted volume was secured.
Several other international traders also participated in the tender. CHS offered wheat at $278.8 per ton, Dreyfus at $282.0 per ton, and Ameropa at $280.0 per ton, but their bids were less competitive than Buildcom’s offer.
At the same time, Jordan has issued a new tender to purchase an additional 120,000 tons of milling wheat. The deadline for submitting offers is June 9, with shipments required during August and September.
