Jordan cancels 120 thsd tons barley tender and issues new one
Jordan’s state grain buyer made no purchase in an international tender for 120,000 metric tons of feed barley that closed recently. According to European traders, no contracts were awarded following the tender.
Major global trading companies participated in the tender, including CHS, Bunge, Olam, Ameropa and COFCO.
Traders report that Jordan has issued a new tender to purchase the same volume of barley — 120,000 tons. The deadline for submitting price offers is expected to be May 6, with shipment scheduled for August.
In addition, the country is also seeking to purchase 120,000 tons of milling wheat. The deadline for offers in this tender is set for May 5, with delivery also planned for August.
