Indian farmers have significantly increased wheat planting, covering 20 million hectares since October 1, marking a 6.6% rise from the same period last year, the farm ministry announced on Monday. In contrast, rapeseed and mustard sowing have seen a decline, with areas planted dropping to 7.6 million hectares compared to 8 million the previous year. The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare continually updates these figures as additional data from state governments becomes available.
