Indian Wheat Industry Eyes Global Recognition at Indore Conclave

The WPPS CEO Conclave 2025, organized by the Wheat Products Promotion Society (WPPS), a leading industry body working to promote innovation, sustainability, and value addition in the wheat and wheat products sector, will be held on April 24–25 at the Marriott Hotel in Indore. This two-day international conclave is a significant step towards establishing India’s wheat industry on the global stage. Focused on the theme “Wheat and Wheat-Based Products: Collaboration for Sustainable Growth and Market Leadership,” this event will provide a common platform for over 400 industry leaders, international delegates, policymakers, technical experts, and professionals working in food innovation. This platform is perfect for strengthening the entire supply chain from production to export, promoting industry-policy coordination, and discussing new opportunities for global trade.
On the first day of the conclave, April 24th, the opening session will feature several distinguished speakers including Mr. Sunil Agrawal (President, M.P. Roller Flour Mills Association), Mr. Ajay Goyal (Chairman, WPPS), Mr. Dean Dias (CEO, Cereals Canada – Virtual), Mr. John Southwell (Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Austrade, Australian Government), Mr. Avinash Chandani (Partner, Deloitte India), Prof. Ramesh Chand (Member, NITI Aayog), and Dr. Subhrato Gupta, IAS (Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India), and Mr. Sanjeev Asthana (CEO, Patanjali Foods Limited).
Providing details about the conclave, Mr. Adi Narayan Gupta, Treasurer of WPPS, stated, “Over the two days of the conclave, nine theme-based sessions will be organized, dedicated to topics such as sustainable supply chains, smart milling, food innovation, fortification, the use of AI and IoT in wheat-based baking technology, export and global market opportunities, women entrepreneurship, digital financing, and climate-resilient varieties. Experts from major global institutions like Nestle, Bimbo Bakeries, Olam Agri, Louis Dreyfus Company, CSIR-CFTRI, and IIM Kolkata will also present their views. On the evening of April 24th, the WPPS Award Ceremony and Networking Dinner will be held, where distinguished participants will be honored for their outstanding contributions in various sectors of the industry. This session will not only be an occasion for recognition but will also strengthen the possibilities of mutual cooperation and partnership among the diverse stakeholders of the industry. Madhya Pradesh, the host state for this event, is a leader in wheat production in India and holds global recognition for its high-quality wheat varieties like ‘Sharbati’, ‘Malwa Raj’, ‘Poshan’, ‘Lok-1’. Through this event, the state’s processing capacity, export potential, and agri-based startups will get a global platform. The WPPS CEO Conclave 2025 is a strong initiative towards giving India a decisive role in the global food system. This conclave will not only highlight the current challenges and opportunities of the industry but will also shape future strategies – enabling India, especially Madhya Pradesh, to establish itself as a global agri-business innovation hub.”
