Indian government authorizes export of 1 mln tons of sugar
The Indian government has authorized the export of 1 million tons of sugar in the current season, which will end in September 2025. This was stated by the country’s food minister, confirming the previously published information by Reuters.
The decision is aimed at helping factories get rid of excess sugar stocks and maintain stable domestic prices. India, being the second largest sugar producer in the world, is thus seeking to balance the sweetener market.
