India allows duty-free imports of yellow peas

India will allow duty-free imports of yellow peas until March 31 next year, the government said in a notification late on Thursday, as New Delhi tries to cool prices of pulses.
India imports yellow peas mainly from Canada and Russia.
Before India imposed import restrictions in MY 2017/18, this country was the first key market for Ukrainian peas.
In MY 2023/24, Ukraine harvested 399.5 thousand tons of peas at a yield of 2.6 t/ha.
