In Donetsk region, Russian troops deliberately shell wheat fields to destroy crops – SES
Russian occupation forces are deliberately destroying Ukrainian grain fields in Donetsk region. This was stated by the main department of the State Emergency Service in Donetsk region, UNN reports.
It is noted that on July 2, the enemy struck a ripe wheat field near the village of Nova Poltavka, Kramatorsk district.
The shelling caused a fire. Rescuers from the Kostiantynivka garrison quickly extinguished the fire at the scene to prevent the destruction of the entire field with a total area of 266 hectares.
Nevertheless, the fire destroyed 50 hectares of wheat by the roots.
On the same day, the enemy shelled a field of wheat near the town of Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk district. Rescuers from Myrnohrad who arrived at the scene found that the wheat was burning on the roots. The rescuers extinguished the fire on an area of 9 hectares and prevented it from spreading to the entire field of 50 hectares.
In addition, the shelling caused a fire of wheat on the roots outside the village of Hrodivka, Pokrovsk district. Rescuers managed to quickly extinguish the fire over an area of 1.5 hectares.
The occupiers are deliberately destroying Ukrainian wheat fields to leave us without bread. Rescuers are doing everything possible to minimize the consequences of enemy shelling – the SES summarized.
