Grain and oilseed stocks in Russia ended the season higher
Grain and pulse stocks held by Russian agricultural enterprises reached 10.48 mln tons at the end of the MY 2025/26. This was 11.4% higher than a year earlier, according to Rosstat data cited by Zerno On-Line.
At the same time, wheat stocks declined by 5.9% from the end of the 2024/25 season to 4.66 mln tons. In contrast, corn stocks increased significantly to 1.35 mln tons, compared with 1.04 mln tons a year earlier.
Oilseed stocks also increased. As of the end of June, Russian agricultural enterprises held 1.26 mln tons of oilseeds, up 20% from the previous year.
Sunflower seed stocks rose by 5% to 377.9 thsd tons. The largest inventories were recorded in the Volga Federal District at 193.9 thsd tons, representing a 64% year-on-year increase.
At the same time, sunflower seed stocks declined in several regions. Inventories fell by 24% in the Central Federal District to 76.1 thsd tons, by 2% in the Siberian Federal District to 62.7 thsd tons, and by nearly half in the Southern Federal District to 32.7 thsd tons.
