Georgia opens market for Ukrainian meat
Georgia has opened its market to Ukrainian meat as well as a range of related agricultural products. In addition, market access for composite products containing poultry meat and plant-based ingredients is at the final stage of approval.
This was reported by Delo.ua, citing the head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhii Tkachuk.
As a result of the cooperation, Ukraine has already gained access this year to export beef, cattle raw materials and by-products, as well as plant-based animal feed.
Separately, the Ukrainian side held negotiations with veterinary authorities of Azerbaijan and Poland, focusing on expanding cooperation, accrediting new producers, and strengthening coordination in veterinary control.
Tkachuk added that, together with the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia, a roadmap has been agreed to further promote Ukrainian products in the local market.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection emphasized that opening the market is only the first step. The next stage involves practical support for exporters, including:
— establishing contacts with local partners
— engaging with government authorities
— overcoming technical and trade barriers
— ensuring a stable presence of Ukrainian products in foreign markets
The agency noted that each such decision expands Ukraine’s export opportunities, generates foreign currency revenues, and strengthens the country’s economic resilience.
