Exports of Ukrainian flour in February almost quadrupled last year’s figure
In February, Ukraine exported 5.2 mln tonnes of grains and pulses in 2022/23 MY, up 3% compared to the same month of the previous season.
This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Thus, in February, the country shipped 1.6 mln tons of wheat, which is 55% more than last year.
Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 232 thsd tonnes (+51%).
In addition, 3 thsd tonnes of rye were exported in February, down 44% from 5.4 thsd tonnes last year.
During the reporting month, Ukraine exported 3.3 mln tons of corn, which is 13% less than the volume of shipments in February last season.
Ukraine exported 16.5 thsd tonnes of flour, which is 3.75 times higher than in February last year (4.4 thsd tonnes).
For reference: in 2021/22 MY, Ukraine exported 48.6 mln tonnes of grains and pulses: wheat – 18.7 mln tonnes, barley – 5.8 mln tonnes, rye – 161.5 thsd tonnes, corn – 23.5 mln tonnes, flour – 70.9 thsd tonnes.
