Exports of soybean meal from Ukraine hit a record high in December

According to the latest data, Ukraine’s exports of soybean meal amounted to just over 96 thsd tonnes in 29 days of December (+13% y-o-y), which was a record monthly shipment volume for this product. The previous high was recorded in May 2019 (93.6 thsd tonnes).
The significant increase in exports of meal was facilitated by the increase in the processing of soybeans, which are more attractive in terms of price for processing companies this season, as well as by the strong demand for soybean meal from the European Union. Thus, the EU accounted for the bulk of the product shipments in December – 91%. In particular, Poland accounted for 30% and Hungary for 23%.
In total, Ukraine exported about 278 thsd tonnes of soybean meal in September-December of MY 2024/25, up 12% compared to September-December of MY 2023/24.
