Winter barley harvesting is underway in France
By June 15, French farmers had threshed 4% of their winter barley acreage, according to FranceAgriMer.
The condition of grain crops in France worsened last week. The share of winter soft wheat in good and excellent condition by June 19 fell to 76% (77% the week before and 68% on the same date last year), winter barley to 73% (75% and 64%), spring barley to 67% (68% and 67%), and corn to 84% (86% and 83%). The share of durum wheat in good and excellent condition remains at 64% (64% and 71%).
The development of winter soft wheat crops is nine days faster than the average for the last five years, hard wheat – six days faster, corn and spring barley – seven days faster.
