Export of biomethane by pipeline from Ukraine has started
On February 6, 2025, the Energy Customs issued the first periodic customs declaration in the history of Ukraine for the export of biomethane by pipeline to Europe.
“This is not just an important step in the development of green energy and strengthening the energy security of the region. This is a significant breakthrough for Ukraine on the path to energy independence and European integration,” the statement said.
The customs noted that this historic event opens up new opportunities for the agricultural sector and investors in the field of bioenergy.
“This is a support for the agricultural sector, as biomethane is produced from organic waste, which stimulates the development of agriculture,” the agency summarized.
