European Commission promises concrete steps for agricultural products from Russia and Belarus
The European Commission’s Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis says that the European Commission intends to take concrete steps against Russian and Belarusian agricultural products. Dombrovskis said this during a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“Speaking about these fluctuations that are now taking place in the EU market, these concerns, they are indeed to some extent caused by the fact that agricultural export flows from Russia and Belarus are coming in,” Dombrovskis said, answering the question whether the European Commission sees any comprehensive solution to the ban on Russian and Belarusian agricultural products.
Dombrovskis emphasized that the European Commission is discussing these issues.
“We will take specific concrete steps. We will announce them soon,” Dombrovskis assured.
He also noted that some countries, such as Latvia and Poland, are also taking steps in this regard.
In turn, Shmygal said he had discussed with Dombrovskis the issue of limiting or completely banning the export of Russian agricultural products.
