Ukraine increases agricultural exports via alternative routes in September
Ukraine has exported 630 thsd tons of agricultural products via alternative routes since the beginning of September, Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotskyi said. This is about 40% of the potential export volume under fully functioning logistics, compared with around 33% in August.
Grains accounted for the largest share of September shipments at 380 thsd tons. According to the ministry, this represents only about 35% of the volume that could be exported under normal logistics conditions.
Oilseed exports since the beginning of the month reached 94 thsd tons, or about 60% of potential volumes. Edible oil shipments totaled 97 thsd tons, around 66% of capacity, while meal exports amounted to about 60 thsd tons, or roughly one-third of the required volume.
According to Vysotskyi, alternative logistics are performing better in September than in August, but capacity remains insufficient. Current routes still handle less than half of the volumes Ukraine could export if maritime and other logistics channels were fully operational.
The Agriculture Ministry plans to continue expanding alternative routes, support farmers with financing and temporary crop storage, and work toward restoring full-scale exports through seaports.
