Imports of Ukrainian rapeseed to the EU should increase by 0.8 mln tons
The EU countries play an important role in realizing Ukraine’s export potential both in the rapeseed market and in the market of its processed products.
This was stated by Svitlana Kupreeva, the oilseed market analyst at UkrAgroConsult, in an interview with The Ukrainian Farmer.
According to her, Ukrainian processors export a part of rapeseed oil to China and Malaysia, and rapeseed meal to Israel and China.
The analyst noted that next season, imports to the EU should increase by 0.8 mln tonnes (up to 6.3 mln tonnes), which will be the key to realization of the export potential for Ukraine in the context of territorial proximity, lower harvest and high processing.
“I will briefly say about the consequences of the ban on rapeseed imports to some EU countries – Poland has disappeared from the list of the top importers of Ukrainian rapeseed, otherwise, the geographical structure of 2023/24 MY has not changed much,” – said Svitlana Kupreeva.
As a reminder, the prices of rapeseed increased to 480-495 USD/t.
