EU chicken meat consumption to rise in 2026
According to the latest USDA FAS European Poultry Industry Report, domestic chicken meat consumption in Europe is expected to increase by 1.4% in 2026, as retail sales and consumption in the HRI sector continue to grow.
Over the long term, chicken meat consumption is expected to continue to grow, as consumers continue to prefer chicken over other sources of animal protein.
Chicken meat is generally more affordable than other meats. European consumers also generally consider chicken to be healthier, more versatile, and easier to prepare.
