Egypt: Supply Min.: Wheat Reserve Suffices for More Than 5.9 Months
Dr. Ali Al-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, stated that the strategic reserve of wheat suffices for 5.9 months and that the rates of domestic wheat supply during the current year are high, and the volume of domestic supply has reached about 3.44 million tons of wheat so far.
The minister confirmed the continuation of the local wheat supply season until the end of next August.
This came during the inauguration of the largest national project to establish strategic stores for food products.
The minister laid the foundation stone for the first strategic store in Suez Governorate within the first stage, within the framework of the President’s directives, is to secure a strategic stock of basic commodities and food products throughout the year.
Al Moselhy indicated that two other stores will be constructed in the governorates of Luxor and Fayoum and that the strategic stores represent a quantum leap for the infrastructure of the internal trade system.
