Egypt has enough wheat stocks for four months
The Egyptian government said that the country’s strategic wheat reserves are sufficient for four months of consumption. This is reported by the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper. According to the official statement, sugar reserves are enough for 13.5 months, vegetable oils – for 6.3 months.
In January, the Egyptian state agency Mostakbal Misr signed several agreements with European exporters on wheat supplies, including barter agreements. In December, Mostakbal Misr signed direct contracts for the supply of 1.267 million tons of wheat, mainly of Russian origin.
