Eastern Kazakhstan showing growth in oilseed production and crush
A plan will be designed in Eastern Kazakhstan for increasing the planted area of oilseeds (sunflower seed, soybeans, rapeseed, linseed etc.). Combined with growth in crushing capacities, this will allow the region to become the top vegetable oil producer and exporter of processed products.
The implementation of four major oilseed-crushing projects is underway in the region.
Eastern Kazakhstan currently accounts for 66% of the country’s total sunflower seed crop and 23% of its oilseed crop. It is projected to expand soybean acreage sevenfold by 2025, UkrAgroConsult reports.
