China increased soybean imports by 3% this year
According to the Chinese Customs Administration, China imported 70.48 million tons of soybeans in January-August, which is 2.8% more than in the same period last year. In April this year, soybean imports totaled 12.14 million tons.
For the whole of 2023, China’s soybean imports totaled 99.41 million tons. The main suppliers of soybeans to China are Brazil and the United States.
