CBOT wheat futures have risen
During February 13–19, SRW wheat rose by 7 USc to 559.4 USc/bu.
The market was supported by the publication of data from the annual AG Outlook Forum, as preliminary estimates of US wheat acreage for 2026 are expected to be slightly lower than in 2025. This is consistent with the general trend of declining wheat acreage in the US, where the crop is not particularly profitable.
According to the Drought Monitor, approximately 46% of US winter wheat acreage is currently experiencing drought conditions (compared to 20% a year ago). This factor will need to be monitored in the coming weeks, as a lack of rainfall could negatively impact yields in 2026.
