Cargo turnover of Ventspils naftas terminals in January-July 2006 decreased by 30.8% amounting to 3.6 million tons

Ventspils naftas terminals in January-July 2006 decreased its cargo turnover by 30.8% year-on-year 2005 amounting to 3.6 million tons. According to the information provided by RZHD-Partner referring to Interfax, these results are included into the company’s materials sent to Riga stock exchange. This figure includes transshipment of 1,6 million tons of petrol and 1.5 million tons of diesel fuel (in July 200 thou tons of petrol and 100 thou tons of diesel fuel). The company’s results over the period from January till July 2006 were considerably influenced by not only by favorable tariffs set in Russia for cargo transportation but unstable market conditions in Europe and USA where petrol and diesel fuel are exported via VNT, the company told BNS agency. In 2005 VNT transshipped 8.1 million tons of oil and oil products that is 3.6% lower than in 2004. This figure includes transshipment of 200 thou tons of oil by railway to the terminal.
