Cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports reached 7.1 mln tons in September
As of September 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 7.1 million tons of cargo. This figure is more than two times higher than the same indicator in 2023 of 3.4 million tons.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
According to the report, the leaders of cargo turnover were grain and ore cargoes – 4.1 million tons (against 2.3 million tons in 2023) and 1.3 million tons (against 249 thousand tons in 2023), respectively.
It is also noted that the cargo turnover through the Ukrainian corridor in September amounted to 6 million tons, of which 3.6 million tons were the products of Ukrainian farmers.
As a reminder, in January-September 2024, the ports of Ukraine handled 74.2 million tons (against 41.1 million tons in 2023). At the same time, 8,630 vessels were handled, compared to 11,038 in 2023. Of this volume, a significant part of the cargo turnover – 46.3 million tons – is made up of agricultural products, which emphasizes its importance for the national economy and exports.
It should be added that as of October 2024, more than 50.1 million tons of agricultural products have already been transported through the Ukrainian sea corridor through the ports of Greater Odesa. Ukrainian goods have been exported to 50 countries on all continents, including Africa, Asia, Europe and America.
