Canada: Saskatchewan warned about heavy rainfall
Saskatchewan’s Water Security Agency is warning residents in the central grain belt of heavy rain and increased flows through the weekend.
The forecast on June 27 was calling for heavier rain around Kindersley, North Battleford, Biggar, Outlook, Saskatoon, Rosthern, Humboldt, Foam Lake, Regina Beach, Buffalo Pound Lake, Davidson and the north end of Lake Diefenbaker, including Riverhurst and Elbow.
The weather system is expected to impact the Alberta headwaters of the North and South Saskatchewan rivers.
In Saskatchewan, rain was to begin late Friday 28.

As much as 50 to 75 millimetres of rain is forecast and localized thunderstorms could produce 100 mm or more.
Strong east winds will accompany the system, with gusts to 70 or 80 km-h through to Friday.
The agency said the moisture is expected in a short period of time, which will increase runoff and flows across the province. This could cause localized flooding and out-of-channel flows.
The WSA will monitor the situation through the weekend. The system is supposed to move out of the region Friday night, but higher flows could persist.
