Asia benefits from global corn market restructuring in 2026
Rabobank’s “Outlook 2026” report shows a gradual recovery in the global corn market following weather shocks in the 2024/25 season.
While US yields declined due to drought, Brazil’s harvest stabilized prices below $5 per bushel.
For the 2025/26 season, Rabobank forecasts record export volumes from the US and Argentina, as more Brazilian corn will be processed domestically for ethanol production. This will open up additional opportunities for other global suppliers.
Feed importers in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia, will benefit from expanded global supply and stable prices.
However, risks related to weather conditions and rising production costs remain. By 2026/27, farmers may reconsider their planting acreage.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
