Armenia extends grain export ban
The decision was made in order to ensure food security – the volume of production does not meet the country’s needs.
Armenia has extended for six months the ban on grain exports outside the EAEU countries. The relevant decision was made at the government session on Thursday.
The ban applies to wheat, barley, corn, buckwheat groats, as well as sunflower seeds and sunflower oil.
The decision is aimed at ensuring food security and stability of the economy.
It is noted that the volume of production of these goods does not meet the needs of the domestic market, the shortage is covered by imports.
