Argentina’s wheat harvest will fall by 23%
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has published its first forecast for Argentina’s wheat harvest in the 2026/2027 season: 21.3 million tons, a 23.4% decrease from the 2025/2026 season. The area under wheat will be reduced by 3% to 6.5 million hectares.
Wheat sowing will be completed in July, and harvesting will take place in October-December.
The US Department of Agriculture estimates the future Argentine wheat harvest at 21.0 million tons. Its export potential, according to USDA calculations, will decrease to 14.5 million tons in the 2026/2027 season, 4.0 million tons less than in the current season.
