The global nitrogen fertilizer market continues to strengthen, while ammonium nitrate prices in Ukraine are moving in the opposite direction. According to Infoindustry, domestic prices continue to decline, while prices in Europe and other key markets are generally trending higher.

Urea prices are showing the strongest growth. In Egypt, prices rose by $15 over the week to $490/t FOB, while in Algeria they reached $521/t FOB. Higher corn prices supported US urea quotations, while Brazilian indications increased to $450/t CFR.

China remains a major source of uncertainty for the global market. Despite existing export restrictions, market participants are discussing a possible new export quota of 2 mln tons of urea. Additional Chinese volumes entering the international market could put downward pressure on global prices.

In the ammonium nitrate market, Baltic prices remain at $340–360/t FOB due to limited September supply, while UK prices are around £460/t and are expected to rise further. In Ukraine, by contrast, ammonium nitrate prices continue to decline. Additional supply is coming from Georgia’s Rustavi Azot, which redirected part of its exports away from the EU due to CBAM restrictions and supplied 59 thsd tons to Ukraine in 2026.

Chinese CPL-grade ammonium sulfate prices have also recovered to $180–195/t FOB, while spot prices in Brazil increased to $225–240/t CFR. However, analysts expect Brazil’s annual demand for ammonium sulfate to decline for the first time in nine years.
