Agricultural production in Ukraine slows down growth rates
The volume of agricultural production in Ukraine in January-May 2026 increased by 1.4% compared to the same period last year (in January-April the figure was 1.7%).
This was reported by the State Statistics Service.
The department notes that the agricultural production index calculations from the beginning of the year to May are carried out only on the basis of data on livestock products, and crop production indicators are taken into account from June.
Thus, the production of livestock products increased by 1.4%, the industrial livestock sector increased its volumes by 10.9%, but household farms decreased by 15.3%.
The largest reduction in agricultural production compared to the previous year was recorded in Donetsk (-51.6%), Zakarpattia (-20.7%) and Sumy (-12.3%) regions. The indicators grew the most in the following regions: Kyiv (+8.8%), Dnipropetrovsk (+7.8%), Cherkasy (+7.6%), Volyn (+7%).
