Actual sunseed harvest in Ukraine may exceed official data by 1–1.5 million tons
According to official data, the sunseedr harvest in Ukraine is 9 million tons. At the same time, the actual production volumes may be higher — at the level of 10–10.5 million tons — taking into account the harvest of some small farmers who are not required to submit reports. According to various estimates, it is about 1–1.5 million tons, Spike Brokers reports.
Over the past week, prices for sunflower oil in six ports of Northern Europe decreased by $28 — to $1,322/ton. On the Turkish route, offer prices remain stable at $1,315–1,320/ton CIF Mersin/Iskenderun, while demand prices are $1,300–1,305/ton.
Towards the ports of Odesa, sunflower oil and meal traded lower compared to last week — in the ranges of $1,225–1,235/t and $220–225/t (bulk/granule), respectively.
Processing plants are reducing production activity ahead of the holidays. At the same time, the spot price index for sunflower seeds with delivery for processing within 30 days decreased by $13 including VAT — to $686/t.
