2024/2025 Argentina Corn Estimate Unchanged at 49 Million

The 2024/2025 Argentina corn estimate was left unchanged this week at 49 million with a neutral to higher bias.
The 2024/2025 Argentina corn harvest progressed to 31.3% which was up 9.3% compared to the prior week. Harvesting was slowed due to excessive rain and farmers prioritizing their soybean harvest. Nationwide yield is now 8,210 kg/ha (130.5 bu/ac) which is in line with initial expectations. Yields of corn in northern Argentina may be disappointing due to prior adverse weather. But yields in central Argentina are expected to compensate for any losses in northern Argentina. The Argentine corn estimate was left unchanged this week at 49 million tons.

The 2024/2025 Argentina corn was rated 20% poor to very poor, 42% fair, and 38% good to excellent. The good to excellent percentage was up one point compared to the prior week. Soil moisture for corn was rated 15% short to very short, and 92% favorable/optimum. The favorable to optimum was up one percentage point from the prior week.
