146 mln tons of cargo passed through the Ukrainian Black Sea corridor
Since the start of the Ukrainian Black Sea corridor in August 2023, the ports of Greater Odesa have handled over 146.5 million tons of cargo and processed 5,596 vessels. Of these, the Odessa port has handled 1,528 vessels.
This was stated by the head of the Odessa branch of the State Enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine” Dmytro Nazarenko, the company’s press service reports on Facebook.
According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, more than 500 port infrastructure facilities, 116 civilian vessels, and 157 civilians have been damaged or destroyed. 161 facilities were damaged directly in the Odesa seaport.
“Despite all the challenges, Ukrainian seaports remain an integral part of the economic stability of the state. Their security is a matter not only of logistics, but also of the survival of Ukraine’s export model,” Nazarenko noted.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv.
