Winter crops throughout Ukraine are in good condition
Agrometeorological conditions in Ukraine during the second decade of November were quite satisfactory for the vegetation of winter crops and the harvesting of late and technical agricultural crops.
This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food with reference to the data of the Ukrhydrometeorological center.
“In the second decade of November, it was warm, as for this time of year, with minor precipitation in the form of rain, during the last days – wet snow, weather. Average daily air temperatures were 3-6.9°C higher than the climatic norm and were within the range of +5.1-9.6°C,” the message states.
The sum of effective air temperatures above +5°С, accumulated from the beginning of October to November 10, was 20-70°С higher than the norm.
It is also noted that minor precipitation in the form of rain and sleet during the decade was observed in almost the entire territory of the country, except for the southern regions.
“Plants of winter grain crops are mainly in the tillering phase. In late sowings, the phases of grain germination and seedling formation are noted. In some areas of the eastern regions, the cessation of vegetation of winter crops is observed in various phases of development – from seedlings to tillering. In winter rape, the leaf rosette formation phase continues.
“The condition of all crops is mostly good,” the report concluded.
