Where does Ukraine sell the most wheat, sunflower oil and corn?
Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, named the countries that are most actively buying our wheat, sunflower oil and corn.
“The geography of exports of Ukrainian grains and oilseeds is very wide. The markets of Asia, Europe and Africa are interested in us. The latter buy mainly wheat. At the same time, sunflower oil became the top exported Ukrainian crop in 2022-2023, with 131 countries buying it. At the same time, we exported wheat to 65 countries and corn to 58 countries,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, oilseeds, including rapeseed, soybeans and sunseed, as well as sunflower and soybean meals and buckwheat, were imported from Ukraine by 40 countries. The Minister of Economy said that the following countries were the main export destinations for sunflower oil:
- Poland – 7.2%,
- India – 7.2%,
- China – 11.9%,
- Romania – 12.1%,
- Turkey – 19.3%.
Ukrainian wheat is mostly exported to the following countries:
- Poland – 5.5%,
- Bangladesh – 6.2%,
- Spain – 14%,
- Romania – 15.8%,
- Turkey – 21%.
The following countries buy Ukrainian corn the most:
- Italy – 6.9%,
- Egypt – 6.3%,
- Spain – 10.5%,
- Romania – 16.2%,
- China – 19.8%.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh is home to 170 million people and imported about 1 million tons of Ukrainian wheat last year.
