Agroclimatic conditions in July continue to play a key role in shaping the grain and oilseed harvest. Overall, the situation in leading producing countries is improving, but weather risks remain in some regions.

USA: Ideal conditions for corn, soybeans and spring wheat

In the Corn Belt states — Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska — favorable conditions prevail for the development of corn, soybeans, and spring wheat, which are in the flowering phase.

Next week, new waves of rain and thunderstorms are forecast amid rising temperatures, which could complicate the harvesting of winter wheat, but will have a positive impact on spring crops.

Canada: Humidity improves in key regions

The situation remains mixed in the Canadian prairies.

Heavy rains have fallen across Alberta and western Saskatchewan, improving conditions for spring wheat and canola as they enter the reproductive phase.
Meanwhile, Manitoba remains dry, with additional precipitation forecast next week that could stabilize the situation.

Brazil: Dry weather favors harvest

Dry conditions have prevailed in the country for two weeks, which is encouraging the active harvesting of the second crop of corn (safrinha), which could accelerate its entry into the world market and increase price pressure.

Eastern and Western Europe: Rains improve conditions for corn and sunflowers

A cyclone has hit Eastern Europe (including Ukraine), bringing heavy rainfall, especially in the central and western regions, where moisture reserves have increased. This will have a positive impact on the condition of corn and sunflower.

In western Europe (France, Germany), rain is expected next week, which will also improve conditions for late crops.

Ukraine: precipitation is local, the south and east remain at risk

A cold snap with rains has arrived in Ukraine, but precipitation has only occurred in the western and central regions.

The southern and eastern regions, which are suffering from drought, have received almost no moisture, which continues to put pressure on sunflower and corn yields.

Russia: contrasting picture

In Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai, the heat and lack of rain persist, which worsens the condition of corn and sunflower, but helps to harvest winter wheat faster. Other regions have better conditions for crop development.

Australia: improving conditions ahead of the new season

Expected localized rains this week and next week may slightly improve soil moisture before the start of the winter wheat and rapeseed growing season.

China: Rains give crops a chance in the center of the country

Forecast rainfall in central China could improve corn and soybean crop prospects. In the northeast of the country, weather conditions remain mostly favorable for crop development in the generative phase.
