Vylor strengthens Pioneer portfolio in Ukraine with new solutions for stable corn and sunflower yields
Vylor, a leading seed and genetics company that began operating independently following its separation from Corteva on October 1, 2026, is introducing an updated portfolio of Pioneer® hybrids for the 2026/2027 season in Ukraine. The new generation of corn and sunflower solutions is designed to help farmers more effectively address key challenges in modern agricultural production, including moisture shortages, the spread of new disease races and sunflower broomrape, as well as the need to maintain stable yields under changing weather conditions.
The expansion of the corn portfolio in Ukraine reflects Vylor’s broader commitment to innovation in this crop. The company recently introduced a global corn technology development program through 2035, combining advanced genetics, modern breeding approaches and promising biotechnologies to develop crops better suited to farmers’ future needs. The expansion of the Pioneer® lineup for the Ukrainian market demonstrates the company’s continued focus on delivering practical value to farmers facing real-world production challenges.
In the 2026/2027 season, Ukrainian farmers will have access to 38 Pioneer® corn hybrids, including four new introductions. Most of these belong to the Optimum® AQUAmax® lineup, developed to deliver stable performance under moisture-limited conditions.
Among the new medium-early maturity hybrids, P85137 combines high yield potential with excellent drought tolerance, while P8861 stands out for its reliability and consistent performance. In the medium-maturity segment, the company is introducing P95287, which combines high yield potential, drought tolerance and rapid grain dry-down. The lineup is complemented by the medium-late P92919, offering growers additional flexibility depending on their farm conditions and the length of the growing season.
The Pioneer® sunflower portfolio for the new season includes 25 hybrids suitable for different growing technologies. Vylor places particular emphasis on genetic protection against the most widespread threats to sunflower production, primarily sunflower broomrape and downy mildew.
For conventional growing systems, the company is introducing two new hybrids. The early-maturing linoleic hybrid P63LL209 provides a high level of control against different broomrape races, while the high-oleic P64HH404 also offers resistance to new races of downy mildew, helping farmers minimize the risk of yield losses.
Vylor is also continuing to develop ExpressSun® technology, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Ukraine in 2027. Today, hybrids using this system are grown on more than 2 million hectares. The new P63LE193 and P64LE218 hybrids combine the benefits of the technology with enhanced protection against broomrape and downy mildew, helping farmers maintain stable production even in regions facing high disease and pest pressure. The company is also introducing P64LP430, a new hybrid tolerant to imidazolinone herbicides that provides comprehensive protection against broomrape, downy mildew and rust, helping preserve yield potential throughout the growing season.
“Ukrainian farmers operate under highly variable climatic conditions, so the demands placed on modern genetics continue to increase. We see that today’s farmers need not only high yield potential but also reliable tools to address drought, diseases and other production challenges,” said Serhii Reznichenko, Head of Marketing and Agronomy at Vylor Ukraine. “That is why we continue to update the Pioneer® portfolio, offering solutions for different growing technologies and maturity groups. Our innovations are designed to help Ukrainian farmers achieve consistent results and plan their production with confidence, even under challenging conditions.”
The updated Pioneer® portfolio reflects Vylor’s approach to advancing agriculture through science, breeding and innovation. The company focuses on developing solutions that help improve production resilience and unlock the genetic potential of crops in the face of climate change.
