Uzbekistan increased corn imports

According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, in January-July 2025, the country imported 70.8 thousand tons of corn from 17 foreign countries for a total of 20.9 million US dollars. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of imports increased by 1.7 million dollars.
The main suppliers of corn were Kazakhstan – 42.3 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan – 24.2 thousand tons, Turkey – 1.9 thousand tons, China – 1.5 thousand tons, and the rest of the countries supplied 786.4 tons. The growth in imports indicates increased demand for grain crops in Uzbekistan and diversification of supply sources.
