USDA worsens forecast for oat and rye harvest in Ukraine

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has lowered its estimate of oat and rye production in Ukraine in the MY 2025/26.
This was reported in the USDA report for August.
Thus, experts expect that the oat harvest this year will be 360 thousand tons, which is 50 thousand tons less than forecast in July. The estimate of crop exports remained unchanged – 20 thousand tons.
At the same time, experts predict rye production in Ukraine at 205 thousand tons (-15 thousand tons). Exports are estimated at 10 thousand tons (unchanged).
The world oat harvest is forecast at 22.627 million tons (-22 thousand tons), exports – 2.533 million tons (+50 thousand tons).
World rye production is expected to reach 11.1 million tons (-15 thousand tons), with exports at 346 thousand tons (unchanged).
